River, cycle paths and the Cévennes

The Gardon flows clear and calm past the campsite: children play there, build dams and search for gold, whilst you can set off on a canoeing adventure. Along the Voie Verte, a car-free path following the old railway line, you can cycle, rollerblade or run safely with the children towards Lézan and Anduze. Ten kilometres further north lie the Cévennes: rugged mountains, deep gorges and winding mountain roads where road cyclists can have a field day, with Mont Aigoual as one of the highest peaks. Beneath the ground lie caves full of stalactites and stalagmites, such as the Grotte de Trabuc near Mialet.

Climate

The sun of the South of France

Here you can camp under the southern French sun; the campsite is open from 1 April to 1 October. When it gets really hot in summer, the river provides some welcome relief. In the early and late seasons, the swimming pool and jacuzzi are heated, and during those months it’s also wonderfully peaceful for walking and cycling.
